Arrival & Departure
Check-in at Casa Paco D’ilhas is from 4 pm on the day of arrival. The venue is being prepared for our 3 week stay all the way up until 4 pm. If your flight comes in early on Monday, we suggest that you either hang out at the airport until around 3 pm, or take a taxi to Ericeira where you can have a nice lunch in town and then take a new taxi to the venue. Next to a small central grocery store called Loja de Amelia there is a taxi stand.
- Welcome circle starts at 5 pm on arrival day
- Check-out is at 11 am on our last day

Good to know
WEATHER
Temperature will most likely be between 14-22 degrees celsius - quite unpredictable, some days sunny and warm, other days it might be raining. In the evenings it can feel quite chilly.
FOOD
All the meals served during the training will be vegetarian. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions that we don't already know, please let us know before training begins. Out of respect for the cooks onsite, please don't change your diet (if applicable) during the training. We have breakfast at 9.30am, lunch at 1.45pm and dinner at 7pm. Some days we'll adjust the times slightly.
WATER
You can drink the tap water in Portugal and this is the default at our venue. Please bring a REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE for your stay. If you drink a lot of tea, bring a small thermos.
WIFI + USE OF CELLPHONE
Free Wifi is available at Casa Paco D’ilhas. It's available in the living room/dining area and does reach some rooms but not all. We highly recommend that you DISCONNECT as much as possible during these three weeks. Try to minimise your time on the internet/social media to immerse yourself fully into the training. It’s quite a rare opportunity to have this amount of time to yourself, so make the most out of it!
ELECTRICITY
Portugal has 230 volts and a plug that has two round pins (type C).
PHOTOGRAPHY CONSENT
We take snapshots and short videos throughout the training. This material is used on social media and/or our website for marketing purposes. If you don't want to be visible in pictures, please let us know before the training begins.
SELF STUDY DAYS
During the training we will not have any days off. There will be two full self-study days where you can take your studies to the beach (if the weather allows for it), to nature around Casa paco D’ilhas or wherever you like. We’ll give you the tasks a day or two ahead so you have the option to rest or take a little field trip for part of the self-study day. We can really recommend a little trip to Ericeira! We will give you all practical details and more information about these days and when it will be at the beginning of the training.
MONEY
We recommend that you bring at least 200 € in cash for your stay at Casa Paco D’ihas. There is no ATM on the premises (but you'll find one a 10 minute walk away). Though you might need to spend nothing, there's a good chance you'll want a massage, do laundry, get something from the snack bar or other small extras, or some cash for a cab ride on self-study days. Portugal is a cash sort of country for the most part.
TOURIST TAX
A mandatory tourist tax of €14 will be charged at check-out. It's a government fee charged to all visitors at any accommodation venue. The tax is €2 per night with a 7 day ceiling.
SNACK BAR
In between meals and before morning class there will be a little snack bar with dried fruit, nuts and homemade snacks as well as tea and coffee. This is offered at an additional cost with an honesty bar system. Prices are €1-2/item. If you are a big tea drinker we highly recommend you bring a small thermos in order to save some dishes and minimise going for refills throughout the day. You may of course bring your own snacks and tea bags if you wish.
LAUNDRY
The cost for laundry at Casa Paco D’ilhas is 20€ for one load (try to share with others if you don’t have a lot to wash) payable onsite in cash.
MASSAGE
As you’ll be practicing A LOT (most likely much more than you usually do) you might want to book yourself a massage session at Casa Paco D’ilhas. There isn’t much spare time as we have a lot to cover during the training, but there will be some self study time / days where it will be possible, as well as in the evenings before/after dinner. You’ll get more information about the different massage therapists as you arrive. The rates vary depending on how long and which type, from 60 - 90 €, to be paid in cash.
YOGA PHOTO SESSION
During our last week, we offer all trainees a photo shoot with our talented photographer friend Isla Grossi. It might sound crazy now, but most people end up taking the opportunity to have professional pictures taken at this point. The cost for a 30 minute photo shoot and 10 edited pictures is €100, also payable in cash.
